Return to Teaching Training (RTT)

Return to Teaching

With constant changes to curriculum, assessment and technology in the education sector, deciding to return to teaching can be a daunting prospect. But whether you have taken time out to raise a family or want to return to teaching after a career change, you have a wealth of valuable skills and experiences to offer pupils and schools and Supply Teaching Ltd can support you on your route back in. Contact Us

While there are no longer any return to teaching training schemes offered by the government, Supply Teaching Ltd now offer a bespoke training package for returning teachers, to help rebuild your confidence, update your skills and make the transition back into the classroom as straightforward as possible. The course would also be an excellent introduction to primary teaching for secondary trained teachers looking to make the transition or for EU teachers looking for teacher training to gain insight into the UK primary education system.

Developed in partnership with PEP:mk, our Return to Teaching Course offers a comprehensive training package delivered over 6 weekly sessions by highly experienced education trainers. There will be opportunities to observe outstanding teachers in local schools and Supply Teaching Ltd can offer supply work to embed your knowledge and experience offering ongoing support and professional development through the initial weeks of supply teaching.

Our Return to Teaching course:

  • Introduction to the classroom
  • Assessment for Learning
  • Behaviour management Strategies
  • Interactive whiteboard training
  • What makes an outstanding lesson?
  • Changes to Numeracy and Literacy framework

The return to teaching training course is very useful for overseas teachers new to the UK.‎ Although current legislation means that EU teachers are eligible to apply for posts in the UK, lack of knowledge about the UK education can make it difficult to actually gain work.
